Organization building: Designed and launched the Malta-based engineering hub from scratch: hiring strategy, interview panels, onboarding curriculum, and operational processes (standups, planning, retros, incident response).
Architecture & design: Chaired a cross-team architecture review board (5 teams) to standardize patterns, reduce duplication, and enable faster, independent delivery. Led design of XBID integration using event-driven architecture.
Production excellence: Delivered successful go-lives supporting 10M+ internal orders per day and 4-digit external order throughput; introduced blue-green deployments for near-zero downtime releases.
System design & migration: Architected and led migration from an event-driven monolith to microservices; designed AWS environments and managed Kubernetes clusters (incl. on-demand clusters for dev/test).
Performance & cost: Reduced order creation latency to sub-5ms via tracing, profiling, and architectural optimization; cut cloud costs by ~30% through right-sizing and waste elimination.
Monetization & analytics: Shipped app-level API metering for usage-based billing; built an internal trading statistics dashboard used by BD, ops, and C-level leadership.
